Junior Oracle DBA

As Junior Database Administrator (DBA), you will provide support for all database technologies in a global company. The position is primarily responsible for Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration activities including code migration, patching and basic administration like space management etc. You will manage and monitor databases in a controlled environment. You will support production environments and will participate in development projects throughout the project life cycle by following best practices.

This person will join a global team in a 24×7 production environment and may include some non-traditional hours when necessary, including a rotating on-call schedule (off-hours and weekend on-duty as well). In general this candidate will need to work in EU time-zone.

– Provide support for the company’s 24×7 production databases and associated technologies in a controlled environment, including Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c, 19c etc. and PostgreSQL 10, 11 etc.
– Perform database installations, monitoring, patching, maintenance and configurations
– Work with developers and analysts to support development efforts
– Work with various internal teams such as server, storage, backup & network administration teams when required
– Taking responsibility/ownership of the task assigned and deliver to completion
– Ability to produce operational documentation using industry best practices in technical writing

– 1-2 years’ experience with Oracle/PostgreSQL Database administration is preferred
– Graduate student with experience is acceptable

– Oracle/PostgreSQL Database administration is preferred
– Oracle Enterprise manager (OEM) 11g or 12c or 13c experience is preferred
– Oracle Database installation and configuration experience is preferred
– Basic scripting knowledge is preferred
– Server and operating system knowledge (Linux and Windows) is required
– Ability to work independently and multi task is required
– Proficient in English speaking and writing is required

– 2 years in similar jobs
– Graduate student with experience is acceptable
